Summer Camp 2014

Summer Camp 2010
Canoeing Merit Badge - a popular class at Summer Camp (July 2010).

Troop 54 will attend summer camp at Treasure Valley in 2014. We will either be at the Baden Powell site, near the Archery Range. We are attending Week 2, which runs Sunday, July 13 through Friday, July 18. Scouts may optionally stay until Saturday morning (no extra fee).

Camp fees and forms:

To stay overnight at camp with the troop, an adult must be a registered member of the BSA.

The 2014 Summer Camp Coordinator and Leader Guide describes many aspects of camp, including what to pack.

The Program Schedule lists the camp-provided merit badge classes and other key activity times. Each Scout should look at this in advance of camp to start planning a great week.

Scouts should plan to bring spending money for items such as merit badge books and materials, snacks, camp picture and souvenirs.

Friday night includes a family dinner at 5:30 PM. Families will pay for that when we depart on Sunday. The dinner is $8 per person, free for kids age 7 and under, free for camp participants.

Friday Closing:

5:30 PM - Family Dinner at Dining Tent (near East Lodge)

6:15 PM - Return to Baden Powell site for acknowledgement of badges earned. Friday departures load cars.

7:30 PM - (approx) Closing Ceremony on Boonesville Plain

8:30 PM - (approx) Closing Campfire at Conucil Ring

Travel There:

Meet at the Epworth United Methodist Church parking lot at 11:00 AM Sunday for departure by 11:30 AM.

Travel to the camp is about 25 minutes.

Any families that want to go to the camp that day (not required) must park at Jamboree Field.

Scouts leaving Friday night should plan to leave at 9:30 PM, after the closing campfire.

Estimated return to the church is 10:00 AM Saturday.

Badges earned during Summer Camp will be presented at a Court of Honor in September.
