Troop 54 will participate in a  Cache In Trash Out  (CITO) Geocaching Event at Crow Hill Conservation Area on Harrington Way in Worcester. Donald Schofield, an Eagle Scout from Troop 91, is hosting the event. Here is Donald's description of the event:

We will gather around 8:45am and work from 9:00am - 12:00pm cleaning up trash and performing trail maintinance.

The Greater Worcester Land Trust has been absolutely great to our hobby, allowing us to hide and seek caches on many of their properties. This is our third annual CITO Event with the trust and the second time it has been hosted at Crow Hill. The trust holds a conservation restriction on nearly 38 Acres here on the hill. The trails are illegally being used by ATVs and are destroying the trails inteded for foot use. There is trash that we should be able to remove throughout the property including chairs, an old toilet, metallic and plastic debris as well as a dozen or more tires. Please dress appropriately. You are encouraged to bring a water bottle, a pair of working gloves and loppers. If you have a pair of rubber boots, they will come in handy.

For those who are interested in geocaching, there are caches in the area that we can find. Go to Geocaching.com for more info. You can create a free account if you don't have one already.

There is a Geocaching Merit Badge. You can complete some of the requirements for the badge at the event; to do that, you will first need to get a blue card signed by your Scoutmaster.

If you already have an account on Geocaching.com, you can see the event listing there.
