We returned to Nobscot Scout Reservation this month (our 4th trip there since 2009) for our annual cabin camping trip. This camp is located in Framingham and Sudbury, MA. Unfortunately, with unseasonably warm weather, there was no snow for the usual winter activities, such as sledding.

We had all six of our Scouts, two leaders and one parent participating on this trip.

Instead of dragging our gear up to the cabin on lightweight sleds gliding over smooth snow, we had to pull it up (about a 100 foot change in elevation) on a heavy camp cart. The rocks, roots and foot bridges made this an extra good workout.

On this trip, the youth and adults ate the same meals. With Spicy Asian Chicken Soup for lunch and Sky Meadow Teriyaki Beef Kabobs for dinner, the Scouts had chosen more gourmet fare than on several recent trips.

The Pondview Cabin remains the nicest cabin we have used. Its wood paneling, even on the ceiling, looks nice, and the three separate rooms allow for adults to be separate at night. A kitchen area is ready for camp stoves with lots of shelving to hold the kitchen gear and supplies.

During the day, we hiked around the camp. At one point, we hike to the summit of the camp, Tippling Rock, which has a view of Boston in clear weather.

This was the troop's eighty-sixth consecutive month with at least one overnight camping trip.
