All but one of our active youth members were on hand for our eighth annual event to bake pies for charities, on Tuesday, November 25. Once again, we were able to use the kitchen at the Armenian Church of Our Savior. We baked 52 pies, an assortment of cherry, apple, lemon, blueberry, pumpkin and rasberry. The next day, we boxed the cooled pies and delivered 25 to the food pantry and shelter at Veterans, Inc. and 25 to Friendly House food pantry.
Support for the event was provided by Troop 54 and Epwroth families, who provided pie fillings and dough for tops, Crown Bakery, which provided pies boxes and Shaws and Price Chopper which provided some funds to use toward pie crusts.
