11 Scouts, 4 Leaders, 1 non-Scout youth and 4 non-Scout adults gathered at the Armenian Church of Our Savior (ACOOS) to bake
pies for local charities just before Thanksgiving, continuing our recent tradition. The ACOOS kitchen is perfect for this activity,
with two large convention ovens and a cooling rack large enough to hold all of the pies as they cool overnight. We baked 54 pies
in just under 3 hours and ate one pie as a snack.
Support for the event was provided by Troop 54 families, who provided pie fillings and dough for tops, Crown Bakery, which provided
pies boxes and Shaws and Price Chopper which provided some funds to use toward pie crusts.
The following day, former Committe Member Mark Sivazlian (member of ACOOS) and troop members helped deliver 53 pies (9 pumpkin,
18 apple, 11 blueberry, 13 cherry, 1 lemon and 1 strawberry) to the Veterans Inc. shelter and to Friendly House.
