Mosquito Nets

A mosquito net for the bed is an essential item at summer camp. These are hung on wood dowels (4 feet long, at least 1/2" diameter) that the Scouts need to bring.

Common methods used to secure the poles to the bed (bring your own materials for this):

• Knots - tautline hitch works well.
• Cable ties
• Duct tape

Alternatives for attaching the net to the poles:

• Tie to the poles using the tabs that come on the net.
• Place a soda bottle over the rod and drape the net over the rod/bottle.

In each case, the Scout needs to completely remove his installation, including any tape or other material, before leaving camp.
