Klondike Derby

The organizers did a great job, especially considering the limited area the camp had been able to clear of hazards remaining from the December ice storm. Our two sleds, upgraded with side panels at recent troop meetings, performed well. Stops on the trail ranged from challenging (as at the emergency preparedness site) to silly (the dirty diaper site - although even this was challenging in another way). The members of Troop 54 tried to consume their share of the over 1200 fresh-baked cookies served up at the West Lodge during the event.
