Green Mountain National Forest
Bennington, VT
Troop 54 will head north to backpack trails in the Green Mountain National Forest. Our current plan is to hit the trail Friday morning (at coordinates 42.839 -73.043), camping overnight near Congdon Camp. Saturday, we will hike to a spot near Stamford Pond to make our second camp. Sunday, we will hike back to our starting point. Estimated distances to backpack:
Day 1 - 4.0 miles
Day 2 - 5.4 miles
Day 3 - 2.8 miles
Participants should attend a planning meeting 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 17, at ICC.
Cost: Share of food cost for patrol (Scouts and Leaders)
Permission Slip - Each participating Scout must submit this to the Scoutmaster before the event.
Adults staying overnight must have a current CORI on file with the Mohegan Council before the event (submitted via the Troop by August 17).
Information on vehicles providing transportation to the event needs to be provided to the Scoutmaster by August 17.
Travel There:
Meet at the Immaculate Conception Church parking lot at 8 AM Friday for departure by 8:15 AM.
Travel to the trailhead is approximately 2.5 hours.
Estimated return to the church is 3:00 PM Sunday.
