Foundation Owned Properties
Some great facilities and spaces are owned or maintained by foundations. A few examples in our area:
- AMC Berkshire - the Appalachian Mountain Club
Berkshire Chapter manages the Massachusetts sections of the Appalachian Trail and the Metacomet-Monadnock Trail. Use
their site to read brief information about sections of these trails and to reserve their facilities.
- Hale Reservation -
this organizaton allows groups to camp by reservation. It is located in Westwood, MA (about 1 hour from Worcester, MA)
- Northfield Mountain -
owned and operated by FirstLight Power Resources. Offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities as well as an extensive array
of environmental and recreation programs.
- The Trustees of Reservations -
this organization owns and manages dozens of properties in Masschusetts, including Tully Lake Campground and Redeption Rock.
