The troop was once again at Evergreen this year. The camp had made a number of improvements, including an extensive
COPE (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) program.
Our sixteen overnight campers and one day camper experienced "Fun, Adventure and Achievement" (the camp cheer). With six campers
participating in the Camping Merit Badge campout and three others on the Brownsea Island Adventure campout, Thursday night was quiet in camp. The
troop took third place in the war canoe race. We earned 37 merit badges and seven advancements. Four of our members were tapped out for
Order of the Arrow and four participated in COPE.
At the closing campfire:
- Bowen K was awarded the William Tell award for excellence in archery.
- Michael R was awarded the Weather Rock Award for his extensive daily involvement and help at the new Econ, which had moved to
the former Arrow site this year.
- Eric M was awarded a Junior USA Shooting Team 2008 patch for his score on the Rifle Range.
Also during camp, several members of the troop participated in a service project, relocating tent platforms at
Hemlocks site to help prepare for a troop arriving the following week.
